The temperature gets so cold and it snows constantly. These cold temperatures and weather can really cause you many problems. One of those problems includes your car. If you have to keep your car outside rather than in a garage then you already know what it is like to deal with snow and frost on your auto glass. It can take forever to get it clear enough to start driving. Trying to clean off the snow and ice from the auto glass can be a huge job. Most people use an ice scraper to get all of it off. The bad part about this is that you usually get dirty and very tired while doing this. Who wants to go to work or school after they just spend twenty minutes cleaning their auto glass? Rather than this method, let us tell you about another way you can clean the ice off of your auto glass without the hassle.

There are a few things you will need to clear the ice from your glass. The first thing you need to do is clear the snow off of it. If you just had a storm, then you might have a large amount of loose snow on your vehicle. You will want to get rid of this before you go any further. It will make it much easier if the snow is not there when you start the cleaning process. An easy way to get rid of all the snow is by using a small plastic scoop. A flexible plastic one will not damage the glass underneath if you do happen to hit it.

Once all the snow is gone you should turn on your car and the windshield wipers. You will then want to go get a bucket full of lukewarm water. Make sure it is only warm water. Hot water can cause the auto glass to crack and cold water will just freeze again. The water will help melt the ice that is stuck to your auto glass. The windshield wipers will help separate and move the ice once it starts to melt.

Now, sometime before the winter season sets in, you should put some type of anti freeze solution in your wiper fluid container. After you have used the warm water you can get in your car. You should spray the anti freeze liquid onto your auto glass. This will help the glass from freezing more while you are driving. If you do not want to purchase such a liquid you can make one yourself. An easy one is using one part water and two parts either vinegar or rubbing alcohol. These will also act as an anti freeze solution and you may already have these ingredients.
